Everything You Need to Know About Trezor

Get answers to the most common questions about Trezor hardware wallets, security features, and cryptocurrency management.

A Trezor hardware wallet is a physical device that stores your cryptocurrency private keys offline. It works by generating and storing your private keys in a secure chip that never connects directly to the internet. When you want to make a transaction, the wallet signs it internally and only sends the signed transaction to your computer, ensuring your private keys never leave the device.

Trezor offers the highest level of security available for cryptocurrency storage. Unlike software wallets that can be compromised by malware, or exchanges that can be hacked, Trezor keeps your private keys in a certified secure element chip that's virtually impossible to extract from. Even if your computer is compromised, your funds remain safe.

Trezor supports over 1,800 cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, and most major altcoins. The device supports all ERC-20 tokens and continues to add support for new cryptocurrencies regularly through firmware updates.

If you lose your Trezor, your funds are still safe as long as you have your recovery seed phrase. During setup, Trezor generates a 12 or 24-word recovery seed that can restore access to all your cryptocurrencies on any compatible wallet. Simply get a new Trezor or compatible device and enter your seed phrase to regain full access.

Yes, Trezor is designed to be user-friendly for beginners while maintaining advanced security. The Trezor Suite software provides an intuitive interface for managing your crypto, and the setup process is straightforward with clear instructions. However, we recommend taking time to understand basic cryptocurrency concepts and backup procedures.

Yes, Trezor works with both desktop and mobile devices. You can use Trezor Suite on your computer or connect your Trezor to compatible mobile wallets. The device connects via USB-C and can work with USB-OTG adapters for mobile use.
